This week we continued our study of insects and arachnids. We talked about the parts of the butterfly and the parts of the spider. The children are enjoying the Andy Warhol jobs in art and the Halloween jobs in practical life. On Friday, Ms. Cristina gave a special lesson on the parts of the apple, discussed the different types of apples and the children were able to taste them.

We identified South America on our continent globe and had a lesson on the South America puzzle map, identifying all of the country names. The children also had lessons on the characteristics of an insect and an arachnid. Lastly, we introduced Andy Warhol by reading a book about him and identifying some of his "Pop" art.

This week we were finishing up our study of North America. We had a lesson on Canada. In enrichment, we went to the outdoor classroom for a story and to color our own Canada Goose. We also had a lesson on the United States, in particular Alabama and our bordering states. Because of the rain, the children worked on floor puzzles and Ms. Jessica came to the classroom for library time.
